About The Art Of A Champion
Our Story
Welcome to The Art Of A Champion, Performing Arts Education, where anything is possible, even chiseling ourselves into Champions! It is here where we focus our attention and instruction on blending two key elements of education: Instilling strength of character into each one of our students while simultaneously teaching a solid foundation of Performance Art. We sing, dance, act, play, present, imagine, investigate, explore and grow. Learning about music and dance, acting and the stage, courage and self discipline and humble collaboration has never been more fun!
Our Mission
Our driving force is to assist the next generation in developing their talents and work ethic to the very best of their ability. Our course is designed with this goal at the forefront. This emphasis comes from the philosophy that performing is not just about one single performer. It's about working as a team to create the best possible experience for everybody involved. Students will learn to grow in self awareness, respect, creativity, confidence and our hope is that they will carry these skills with them for life.
Who Are We?
We are an educational resource for homeschooling families passionate about providing opportunities to learn the fundamentals of memorization, collaboration, artistic expression, public speaking and character growth. The Art Of A Champion’s founder, Chavonne Medrano began her regional and professional performing career in Los Angeles, CA at the age of seven. She is a graduate from California State University, Northridge with a BA in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Musical Theatre and Dance. Chavonne is an Alumni of The Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, where she graduated from the distinguished Apprentice Dance Masters Program earning a two year intensive scholarship, gaining renown dance, choreography, vocal and acting training. Her performing career spans over two decades and includes a wide variety of film, television and stage credits. Chavonne is a devoted wife and homeschooling mother of four. Chavonne's instruction will aid students in mastering their skills while having fun and supporting their friends at the same time. This is an exciting way for students to engage with the creative space, material they learn and their own imaginations. We can't wait to see how your children blossom with our program.
Our Class Information
Our class is a three-part singing, dancing and acting mash up, dedicating equal time to each subject, every week. Our time together will include warming up, games, studying material, repetition and guidance on practice techniques to use at home between classes. Class will be held on Thursday mornings from 9:30am - 11:30am and is ideal for students ages 6 and up. Participants will be instructed to journal lightly after each class to help them remember what we work on each week. We look forward to working with your students.
